Where are we?

Parramatta, New South Wales, Australia

The City of Parramatta offers lifestyle, employment, arts and culture on the banks of the Parramatta River. It is 23 kilometres west of, and a 30 minute train ride from, Sydney’s CBD; and the popular Parramatta River ferry service operates daily from Darling Harbour and Circular Quay.

The Office:

Real estate principal Morris and Melissa Short’s first listing after RE/MAX Xtra opened for business on 1st August 2016 occurred when a Parramatta customer walked into the office asking ‘is it correct that you sell globally?’. “He had an apartment block in Bogotá, Colombia,” explained Morris, “so we quickly reached out to our overseas peers and got the RE / MAX Dolce Vita team on the job.” Mel & Morris Short-HR

The Market:

It is an exciting market with so much of Parramatta earmarked for medium and high density residential. The city is undergoing a generational change which is bringing with it a vibrancy and excitement, along with great opportunities. Parramatta has been recognised as Sydney’s second CBD for some time but now it’s shaping up as Sydney’s new heart, and the city’s growth potential is enormous The tallest building in the southern hemisphere is being constructed here. The anticipated light rail will link Parramatta to Strathfield, and the new fast rail line connecting the new airport at Badgerys Creek to Sydney CBD will mean Parramatta is just 15 minute by rail to the Sydney CBD. An increasing number of Sydney city workers are looking to Parramatta to live, plus many government departments and private companies are re-establishing a Parramatta-base to relocate closer to their employees. The Camellia Peninsula will be transformed into a vibrant and thriving mixed-use precinct, with a new residential suburb bringing an estimated 20,000 new households. The State Government chose the Parramatta River foreshore as the site for the new Powerhouse Museum and the greater Parramatta corridor is firming up as Sydney’s next big education precinct with universities and colleges planning to capture the western suburbs’ burgeoning student market.

In Morris’s View:

I would be very excited if I owned or was investing in the Parramatta market right now.Parramatta is our ‘hometown’, and we are extremely proud to live and do business in. Parramatta has something for everyone.
